Alan’s book is 1,152 pages long and uses fairly thick pages. In addition, the unconventional size of the book meant that ordinary binding machines wouldn’t work for this book.

In order to make this book we had to engineer and recalibrate our binding machines. We actually used manual binding in order to achieve the level of customisation that was required for this book. As a result, Alan’s design and writing combined with our production led to it being nominated for several design and production awards
