We were tasked with completely redesigning the packaging of the Airport Express model and repack current stock into the new packaging. Because we were dealing with product packaging, we needed to make sure every detail was carefully measured and calculated in order to select the proper thickness of paper and plastic for the blister pack.

In addition, to producing the packaging, MTR requested that we inspect each model train when we repacked them, to ensure that each item was in pristine quality.

For the outer packaging, we selected 250 Gsm, Carta Integra Single Sided Art card from Antalis, a quality paper stock produced in Finland. Carta Integra is known for its light weight, yet sturdy material that was perfect for this package. The specific fibre structure of Carta Integra allows surface coating to be stronger, allowing us to use less costly oil for varnishing to achieve a superior print quality to PP lamination at greatly reduced costs.

The internal blister trays were carefully produced and reinforced by the bottom and top box lids and securely held the model train in place to prevent any damage during transportation and display.
